As most of you cat lovers might be aware, cats are a pretty extreme bunch. Some are willing to give themselves over to our will and will let us cuddle and pet them in any position that pleases us. While others would rather turn into blenders of human flesh the moment that we even inch over to touch them. It is not necessarily a reflection of how they feel about us; they just tend to be rather pawticular about how, who, and where they are touched.

But seeing as the finer details of this phenomenon are a little tough to come by, especially for newer cat lovers who have not had too much experience with feline belly rubs, we wanted to share this collection of cat pawrent experiences with you all so that the next time you are presented with a cat belly to pawtentially rub, you will know what the supposed risks and rewards of getting stuck in are.

  • Wow, Havi looks like such a little sweetheart. The kind of cat who comes up to you as you are about to fall asleep and bumps his head against your forehead in a gesture of love, admiration, and companionship. As though he is letting you know that you can rest easy and he is gonna make sure you get to sleep in complete safety.

If it were us, we would not be able to contain our excitement at being presented with such a sweet, fluffy belly to pet. Just look at how peaceful and happy this catto is, she is basically begging for belly rubs…this is what we mean when we reference the forbidden belly floof…

    Mine rolls for tummy rubs. If she's on her side she'll lift her leg to give you better access to the tum tum. And on the rare occasion I give her enough tummy rubs (and it takes a LONG time to get her to that point), she doesn't attack the hand, she just rolls back onto her tummy so I don't have access anymore. She's the sweetest cat.

    Both of ours love belly rubs. I scoop them up and give them belly kisses. George Michael (as in Blum) will every now and then get excited but gives you enough back feet kick warning that you can stop before he bites. But it's not even an attack tbh, the dude just grabs on. Ten seconds later he's back flopped on his back asking for more belly rubs. This is all day long. Maeby never ever scratched or bites. Just waits until I'm done snuggling and then jumps away... but then starts doing figure 8s
